Cover Options

Rescue

This provides you with roadside assistance and up to one hour's free labour. If your car cannot be fixed at the roadside, Direct Line will transport it to an appropriate garage nearby. There are NO call-out charges, and your car is covered once it has travelled a mile away from your home.

Rescue Plus

Direct Line provide all of the above benefits and extend the cover to include service at your home

Recovery

All the benefits of Rescue cover apply. In addition, if Direct Line cannot repair your car by the end of that working day you, your car, and up to seven passengers will be relayed to your home address, your original destination or a local garage.

Direct Line - Recovery Plus

Extends all benefits of the Recovery plan to cover your car at your home address, plus a choice of either:

A hire car to either return home or continue your journey, or
The cost of alternative transport to continue your journey or to return home, or
B&B accommodation in a local hotel while awaiting completion of repairs providing the incident occurs at a distance of more than 25 miles away from your home.

If necessary, Direct Line will also pay for a single standard class rail ticket for you or an authorised driver to collect the vehicle. Direct Line also offer a message service to let relatives or friends know you have been held up and are on your way. For all options, your car is covered for whoever is driving it. However, you can extend your level of cover in your policy to include Personal Cover. You will then be covered for any car you are travelling in - even if you are only the passenger. This level of cover can be extended to include your partner as well.
