Obviously AA breakdown are the best known of the breakdown cover companies but according to our survey there breakdown recovery plan is the most expensive (01/02/2003). RAC Breakdown do not seem to feature the response time on their website, but they do state that 82% of the callouts that they attend are repaired at the roadside. Our favourite company amongst the insurance giants is National Breakdown or more correctly known as international breakdown. In our opinion they offer good service at an excellent price. Our final offering is Europ assistance, again not as well known as the major brands but definitely worth considering.
